Red Deer & District Garden Club

Red Deer's approximate last frost date is May 25 and first frost date is September 9. Keep in mind that growing conditions will affect time of bloom to some degree. If we have cool rainy weather, it could take longer, while warm, sunny conditions could speed up the process somewhat. At the end of the year you may want to evaluate the timing of your seeding schedule, noting what went right and what went wrong. These observations will help you make adjustments for next year to ensure that we are growing our plants under optimum conditions. It's also advisable to keep track of where you purchased your seeds, as the quality and reliability may vary by source.
